She survived by herself and was willing to die as long as it was on her own terms. She didn’t have to rely on Reed or anybody else.
Those couple of chapters caused so much character growth that I actually clapped. Anyways, Evie got better when she got kidnapped by Brennus. Speaking of Russell, I really dislike him and the chapters he narrated made me want to throw the book away. If she had just talked to anybody BUT Russel, so many dramatic and ridiculous things wouldn’t have happened. The issue is Evie took this to a completely inappropriate level. I understand a self-sacrificing heroine and, at times, I like to read about them. I developed a problem with Evie in this book. Story in a Sentence: Evolving into the seraph she was always meant to be, Evie now realizes the danger she brings to those she cares about and she refuses to allow anybody to get hurt.
